Introduction
It is a Chinese-American dish invented by a Chinese immigrant
and US army WWII veteran David Leong (1963). Now a days, there are various methods
to prepare the dish depending on the availability and quantity of ingredients.
One such method to prepare is as:
Ingredients
For the sake of perfection, let’s prepare this dish for
4-5 persons.
I) 750 gms. of
chicken pieces.
II) ¾ cup of
chopped cashew nuts.
III) 2 tbsps. of
chopped coriander leaves.
IV) 1 ½ cup of
hot water.
V) 1 tsp. of
garlic paste.
VI) 1 tsp. of
chilli powder.
VII) I tsp. of
lemon juice.
VIII) 1 ½ tsp.
garam masala powder.
IX) 2 tbsps. of
ghee.
X) 2 chopped
onions.
XI) 2 tbsps. of
tomato puree.
XII) ¼ tsp. of
turmeric.
XIII) 1 tsp. of
salt.
XIV) 1 tsp. of curd.
XV) 1 tsp. of
raisins.
Method
1) Grind well
onion, tomato puree, cashew, garam masala powder, garlic, chilli powder, lemon
juice, turmeric, salt & curd.
2) Heat ghee and
fry the above for 2 minutes. Then add chicken, raisins and half of the chopped coriander
leaves.
3) Stir while
frying for 1 minutes or more.
4) Add hot
water. Cover and cook on low flame for 10 to 12 minutes.
5) As the chicken pieces softens and gravy thickens, add the remaining chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
